Fair Housing Accessibility Guidelines
The Department of Housing and Urban Development has adopted guidelines to provide builders and developers with technical guidance on how to comply with the accessibility requirements of the Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988. These guidelines require all residential structures of 4 units and larger to be accessible to persons with disabilities. Covered multifamily buildings include apartments, condominiums, single-story townhouses, vacation time-sharing properties, homeless shelters and other similar residential buildings.202-708-2618 voice
