Employee Relations Board Notice of Vacancy

Pursuant to Ordinance 2005-30, collective bargaining is allowed for municipal employees. The same ordinance requires an Employee Relations Board be established consisting of three members: employee representative, assembly representative, and one representative selected by the employee and assembly representatives. This is a notice of vacancy for the employee representative position on this board.

The employee representative is not required by ordinance to be an employee of the City and Borough of Sitka. If you are interested in being the employee representative, or wish to nominate someone else for this position, please submit a completed Declaration of Candidacy form signed by the candidate to the Municipal Clerk. A Declaration of Candidacy form is available online here or from the Municipal Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 100 Lincoln Street, 3rd floor.

Completed Declaration of Candidacy forms need to be received by the Municipal Clerk’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 24 for the nominee to appear on the ballot. The Employee Relations Board seat entitled “Employee Representative” shall be filled by secret ballot. Voting by all current City and Borough of Sitka collective bargaining unit employees will occur at the Municipal Clerk’s Office from April 30 - May 2 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. For more information contact the Municipal Clerk's Office at 907-747-1826.
