Animal Hearing Board

Purpose:

Hears appeals regarding the classification of dogs; reviews proposed written administrative orders or ordinances; and makes decisions on applications for reclassification of dogs.

Duties and Responsibilties

The animal hearing board shall:

  1. Hear appeals regarding the classification of dogs as potentially dangerous or dangerous;
  2. Review proposed written administrative orders or ordinances pertaining to this chapter; and
  3. Make decisions on applications for reclassification of dogs under SGC 8.05.091.
  4. The Animal Hearing Board shall meet within 5 business days, or soon as possible thereafter, after receipt for a hearing.
