Crews are working today on DeGroff Street and Marine Street
Published on April 02, 2026
City and Borough of Sitka Streets crews are continuing snow response operations.
Crews are working today on DeGroff Street and Marine Street using a grader to spread snow berms across the roadway.
This process creates a thin layer of snow that allows sunlight and warmer temperatures to accelerate melting, helping improve road conditions more efficiently.
Motorists are advised to use caution in these areas and expect changing road surfaces as work continues.
