The City and Borough of Sitka Water Department would like to let the public know that hydrant flushing operations are taking longer than originally anticipated and are now expected to continue through the month of May.
During this time, some residents may temporarily notice cloudy or discolored water. If this occurs, run cold water from a faucet or bathtub until the water clears.
We appreciate the community’s patience as crews continue this important system maintenance work.
