The City and Borough of Sitka will begin flushing fire hydrants throughout the community starting Tuesday, May 12. This process is expected to take approximately one week to complete.
During hydrant flushing, some residents may temporarily notice discolored or cloudy water. If this occurs, customers are encouraged to run cold water from a faucet or bathtub until the water clears.
We appreciate the public’s patience as crews complete this important maintenance work to help maintain water quality and system reliability.
