Snow Removal Operations Update

The City and Borough of Sitka is currently experiencing reduced snow removal capacity due to three key pieces of heavy equipment being out of service. Public Works crews have adjusted operations and are continuing to clear priority routes; however, progress may be slower than usual as a result. Replacement parts have been ordered, but repair timelines are dependent on delivery and installation.

We understand the community’s frustration and appreciate your patience as crews work through these challenges and ongoing winter conditions. Updates will be provided as equipment is restored and operations return to full capacity.
