The City and Borough of Sitka advises travelers that the pre-security public restrooms at the Sitka Rocky Gutierrez Airport will be temporarily closed for remodeling beginning September. The closure is expected to last approximately six weeks, with work continuing into October as a part of the Airport Terminal Improvement Project.
Temporary restroom facilities will be located outside the terminal in the loading zone and available for public use throughout the closure. Directional signage will be posted to assist in locating the temporary facilities.
Restroom located inside the secure area of the terminal will remain available for ticketed passengers after passing through the TSA security checkpoint. Arriving passengers are encouraged to use these restrooms before leaving the secure area.
