The City and Borough of Sitka will hold a regular election on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, to fill the following offices:

  • Mayor – one seat (2-year term)
  • Assembly Member – two seats (3-year terms)
  • School Board Member – three seats (two 3-year terms and one 1-year term)

Candidates for Assembly must be qualified voters who have resided continuously within the municipality for the 12 months immediately preceding the election. Candidates for School Board must be qualified voters who have resided within the municipality for at least 30 days immediately preceding the election.

The candidate filing period opens Monday, July 20, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Candidate packets will be available at that time in the Municipal Clerk’s Office, 100 Lincoln Street, 3rd Floor. The filing deadline is Friday, August 7, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
