Biography
My name is Kevin Mosher, and I’ve proudly called Sitka home for 33 years. My wife, Theresa, and I raised our five adult children here while earning our Business Administration degrees from UAS. After years as a stay-at-home dad, I built an 18-year career in accounting, including nearly 15 years with Shee Atiká Incorporated.
Having served on the Assembly for nearly eight years, I am running for Mayor to offer steady leadership and continued dedication to our community. I know firsthand the economic challenges of raising a family in Sitka, which is why promoting local affordability and sustainable growth remains my top priority. As a practical, non-partisan leader with a proven record of consensus-building, I am committed to listening to all Sitkans and guiding our town forward. I would be honored to have your vote.
Advocacy Statement
Hello. My name is Kevin Mosher. I am running for Mayor of Sitka to offer steady, proven leadership during a period of key transitions for our community. Having served nearly eight years on the Assembly, I bring deep institutional knowledge, strong relationships across city departments, and a sincere commitment to listening to every Sitkan.
My priority is to keep our momentum going while directly tackling our cost-of-living and quality-of-life challenges. That means ensuring critical infrastructure projects stay on track and supporting our dedicated city staff, while working collaboratively with the Assembly on long-term solutions. At the top of my agenda is addressing our housing shortage and affordability, expanding support for childcare, and ensuring our local schools receive maximum support so our children and families thrive.
Good governance starts with accessible, open communication. One of my favorite parts of public service is meeting over a cup of coffee to listen, learn, and discuss ideas with community members, staff, and fellow leaders. Leadership isn’t about working in isolation—it’s about bringing people together, respecting different perspectives, and guiding Sitka toward a secure, vibrant future.
